Franklin Roosevelt

Quote: "There is nothing I loveas much as a good fight."

Franklin Roosevelt was born January 30, 1882 in Hyde Park, N.Y. And he died at the age of 63 on April 12, 1945 at Warm Springs,Ga. He was the only child of James and Sara Delano Roosevelt. In 1921 he was hit with Poliomyelitis. For some time he was almost paralyzed. He did recover. He became the 32nd President (1933). Something that makes Roosevelt interesting is that he was the only president to be elected four times because when he became governor (after his two terms) his first term he concentrated on the tax relief for the farmers and the cheaper public utilities for people. It was so appealing from his programs (also called New Deal) mostly in upstate New York that led him to reelection in 1930. While he was in the president seat he led the United States through the Great Depression and WWll.

When our group was researching about Franklin Roosevelt this website we used was very helpful. It had tons of information about his life. This website was very detailed. And sometimes it would be way more than we needed. We wished there would be more pictures on the website. Another good thing about this website was that once in awhile on the side of the page it would have some quotes he had said throughout his lifetime.
